EVERY EVERY EVERY year here - we do our best to make our Summer season the best that we can. Situated right in the heart of Key West where sun and fun go hand in hand - our very own Coffee Butler Amphitheater is about to turn into an all blues bop roadhouse for George Thorogood & The Destroyers when they roll through to our home - right here on Saturday, May 9th on their 2026 Baddest Show On Earth Tour. A night that’s all about loud guitars, cold beers and songs that have been on repeat in our car for years - Thorogood’s shows are built for places like this: open air, sweaty, and packed with fans ready to shout every word back at him. And if you’re wondering if you can catch them on night two of their stop here in the Florida blue - well, sorry folks, they WILL be gone before we know it. Hitting stops in cities like Fort Lauderdale, St. Augustine, New Orleans, Dallas, Denver, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles too - the boys are making this summer their very own, and quite frankly - we aren’t complaining folks.
George Thorogood & The Destroyers are American blues-rock royalty, plain and simple. Formed in the early 1970s out of Wilmington, Delaware, the band was built around Thorogood’s gritty slide guitar, bar-room swagger, and love of old-school blues. What started as a group ripping through Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker covers in tiny clubs quickly turned into something much bigger. By the time they dropped their breakthrough records in the late ’70s and early ’80s, Thorogood had carved out a sound that was raw, loud, and instantly recognizable - blues at its core, but supercharged with rock-and-roll attitude. Songs like Bad to the Bone, Move It On Over, I Drink Alone, and One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer turned the band into household names, landing them everywhere from radio airwaves to movie soundtracks to sold-out arenas. But even with all that success, the Destroyers never lost their working-class edge — they built their reputation on the road, playing thousands of shows and earning their fans one sweaty, beer-soaked night at a time. Decades later, that fire is still burning just as hot. And THAT folks is why we’re pulling up, and you are too right?! Great! Amazing! We can’t wait to have you!
So y’all - we’ve said a mouthful! Now we’ll let the music do the talking. Grab your crew and all your black leather boots - and make sure to get here early, too! We’ll see you soon : right here for all the guitar solos and rock and roll energy.
